The Stepper Motors can produce sound waves at certain frequencies, this effect is undesirable and if a 3D printer is made of sheet metal or wood this noise gets amplified.
You can make use of this Nema17 Stepper Motor Shock Absorber / Vibration Damper to avoid this noise effect. Connect this rubber barrier between the motor and the 3D printer frame. This will eliminate the vibrations produced by the stepper motor right before it reaches the 3D printer frame.
The damper has two sides: non-threaded holes for stepper motor mounting, and threaded mounting holes for the printer-side. This is a very good device to reduce the sound generated by your 3D printer
